WISE MEN STILL WORSHIP

"Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." (Matthew 2:1-2)

The World was too busy to notice the birth of this child. There was no room found for Him in the Inn. And no room in the hearts of men. The angels had announced His birth, the shepherds had bowed before Him and the two intercessors had confirmed His identity and yet Israel did not know this King.

Two years would pass before these Wise Men of the East would come searching for this child. Into an occupied country three princes came looking for the real king. These Arabs of the East seem to be more aware of the coming of the King than Israel. They explained that a star has guided them to this place. Today most Christians would dismiss them as simply too "new agey" or "weird." And yet here they are very close to the Christ.

I think that they were astounded to find Jerusalem so complacent. I think they believe they would find people worshiping the Christ. However, they were not deterred by the indifference of the people, they simply started going door to door. Like the Lover of the Song of Solomon they began to ask "have you seen him whom my soul loves?"

These men were more in tune to the fact that God had promised a Christ, than the believers or the religious leaders of that time.

"WISE MEN SEEK TO WORSHIP THE CHRSIT"

We now live in a world where worship is no longer considered a need in our lives. You can if you want but you don't have or need too. You can be a believer and not worship. Perhaps that is because our society has lost a sense of value of the Christ.

Once people lose a sense of the value of the Christ it follows that worship is diminished in our society. I was praying this morning and I realized that "WISE MEN STILL WORSHIP THE KING."

All too often it is very easy to lose our sense of childlike wonder when it comes to worship.

I think we need to remember what it is to be childlike when it comes to adoring and worshiping God.

I believe I have heard it quoted that G.K. Chesterton has learned more about philosophy and life from little children than from all the books he has ever read put together.

Also...
Jesus makes it very clear in Mathew 18 and 19 (as well as other places) how he feels about the value of a little child and those who keep their childlike qualities.

I think this Christmas ... as we remember the fond memories of our childhood and bask in the moments our children will remember years to come ... we should remember our childlike wonder and awe of Him.

Merry Christmas!

I would like to comment on one of your statements. :) "There was no room found for Him in the Inn. And no room in the hearts of men." Your last sentence in that part, and no room in the hearts of men really stopped me for a moment. You did not say room in lives, days, weeks or hours. You plainly stated the hearts of men. If our hearts are filled with worldly desires and needs, we will not be able to see to find that special relationship with Him. I know that many know the scripture about seeking Him first, but it is such an important heart message for His children. If you are seeking after worldly things, desiring them with your heart that is to be seeking and hungry for Him, you will miss it. Seeking Him allows mending and forgiveness in your heart where there might have been none before. Seeking Him allows a new way of life, and that new life to come forth. Seeking Him allows so many blessings from Him. It really is a heart matter to focus on Him and cherish that special relationship, so we can then pass that love to our neighbors. Proverbs 23:7 states, "For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he". I have been having so much fun with my concordance. If you pull thinks from that scripture in a concordance, it says to think, estimate, calculate. I am very analytical, so this was an awesome explanation for me. I am always trying to figure out the details of something and exactly what it takes to get where it might end up. I know I will never figure out God and His ways, for they are His. However, to think and calculate the way Jesus lived, and be seeking after those desires in my heart might be a very good start to where He might have me going. There are so many examples in the life of Jesus that we can apply to life today. It is a matter of placing those thoughts of love in your heart and submitting to God as His vessel for His works around you. Thank you for allowing me to ramble on. :) I pray God's Blessings to you all in the New Year. God's Peace family...

Now is the time for wisemen to still worship.

I will just speak for myself but in the hustle and bustle in my daily life, it is time to work on or fast my attitude and the things that damper my relationship with Him so I may come to hear him more clearly and be more obedient.

The desire of my heart is now to love those around me I have that "certain issue" with and ask "have you seen him whom my soul loves" in silence, as well as being a better servant to all.
Also it's been placed on my heart to seek thy will and not my 33 and disgruntled singles will.

These are the things I am starting to work on in my 21 day
fast as I seek the king.
